The Lester Buresh Family Community Wellness Center

The City of Mt Vernon welcomes you to the Lester Buresh Family Community Wellness Center. This 33,000 square foot facility has been in the works for the past 20 years! From group exercise classes and team activities to spaces that encourage interaction, the LBC will be an inclusive space within our community where we can gather, grow and thrive.

Sunday, February 23 from 1-4pm

Come enjoy tours of the facility, a previews of our group fitness classes, and kid’s activities including the rock climbing wall, bounce house, and crafts. We’ll also have door prizes and raffles!

Membership

At the LBC we offer a variety of membership types to serve individuals, couples, seniors and families.

All memberships include the following facility amenities and benefits:

Exercise equipment (cardio machines, weight machines and free weights)

iWall (a fun and versatile exergaming product that lets you become a part of the game)
Group fitness classes

24/7 access for members 18 years and older

Specialty classes, certain programs and one-to-one services will be offered at an additional fee.

* Family is described as up to two adults and up to four children (18 years and under or full-time student under 21). Each additional child is $10/month.

** A senior is someone 62 years or older.

*** In order to qualify for current Military status, a current Military ID must be presented.

Interested in becoming a Member of the LBC? Get a jump start on the registration process by following these steps:

Membership forms are available below if you would like to complete them before you meet with one of our Customer Service staff.
Once this is complete, please come to Mt Vernon City Hall located at 213 1st St NW, Mt Vernon, IA to purchase your membership.

Payment for one month and three month memberships are due at the start of your membership. Annual memberships may be paid in entirety to receive an additional discount, or monthly auto payments can be set up with the first payment due at the start of your membership. The LBC accepts cash, check, credit card and ACH payments.
